I had been looking for a cooler that would hold ice for an extended amount of time & keep my food & beverages safe without paying for the (Y) name. This cooler fits that bill & is just the right size for transporting about anywhere you want to go. It has been in very hot conditions with minimal ice melting. The dry goods basket is a great addition & worth the money. The only thing I’ve found which is not that big of a deal, the cooler will sweat right around the drain area after extended periods of being exposed to extreme heat. This would only be a problem if it were sitting in an area that a little bit of water would be an issue. Other than that I highly recommend this cooler. Thanks Blue Cooler.
I’ve used the Blue Cooler on a beach trip and overall, it performs well in terms of insulation and capacity. However, there are two main areas where it could be improved:
1. Wheels: Given the size and weight of the cooler when full, the current wheels are too small and narrow to handle sand efficiently. They tend to dig into the sand and collect it underneath, almost like a snow shovel. Larger, wider wheels would make a big difference, especially for beach use.
2. Lid Design: For a cooler of this size, it would be much more efficient if the lid worked independently on both sides—similar to the ICECO portable fridges. That way, you can access drinks or one section without opening the entire cooler and losing cold air.
With these upgrades, this cooler would be near perfect!
Very nice, well made cooler at a terrific price. Accessory kit is a plus and a good value in the bundle. Everyone comments on the cooler light, “where did ya get that? Blue Coolers!”
I took it camping and it kept ice for 3 days in the back of a hot car.
The lid clasps need to be redesigned. You open one and while your opening the other the first clasp clamps again. So you have to use both hands to open the cooler.
